Genetic Screening.

Did you know that in one in every twenty pregnancies there is a birth defect? Most couples don't know this and they think they are going to have the "perfect" baby. Most of these birth defects are caused by genetics, but some aren't. The ones that are can usually be detected. This very useful process of detecting and sometimes preventing genetic disorders is called genetic screening.

       Genetic screening is a process conducted for the prevention of disease . There is also four main goals that the conductors of genetic screening wish to acheieve. These goals are medical management or treatment, provision of reproductive information, enumeration and research.

       There are many different ways of conducting genetic screening. There are also two main types of genetic screening, prenatal screening and new born screening. 

    

 

   People all over the world have their different thoughts on genetic screening and all the other reproductive techniques. I don't really believe that they are right, but some people have strong opinions that they are. Some people also believe that the advancement of technology will soon enable us to totally change the way our baby is. This way any person could have the "perfect baby" with no imperfections. Can genetic screening change our future?
